The Lahore High Court (LHC) on Monday has ordered to stop the demolition Punjab Governor House walls.
The court was hearing a petition to stop the demolition of the boundary walls of Punjab Governor House filed by Khawaja Mohsin Abbas. The LHC has summoned replies from the federal and Punjab governments in this regard.
The petition states that the Punjab Governor House is a historic building and under the Supreme Court’s order, no historic building can be damaged.
It further stated that the order of the prime minister will waste taxpayer's money. The petition also seeks to make the federal and Punjab governments parities in the case.
Yesterday, the Punjab government started demolishing the boundary wall of the Punjab Governor House a day after Prime Minister Imran Khan’s order.
