Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has embarked on a two-day visit to Saudi Arabia to participate in the "One Water Summit" in Riyadh.
The Summit, a joint initiative of Saudi Arabia, France, Kazakhstan, and the World Bank, seeks to foster global collaboration and a unified international approach to water resource management through high-level political commitments.
During the event, the prime minister will deliver a keynote address at a roundtable discussion focused on the restoration, preservation, and adaptation of freshwater resources and wetlands.
In his address, PM Shehbaz Sharif will emphasize Pakistan's efforts in water conservation, enhancing climate resilience, improving water quality, generating livelihoods, and preserving biodiversity. He will also stress the need for international cooperation to address the challenges posed by climate-induced floods, extreme weather patterns, and heat stress on water resources and ecosystems.
On the sidelines, the Prime Minister is expected to engage in bilateral meetings with other leaders attending the Summit.
The Prime Minister is accompanied by Information Minister Attaullah Tarar and Special Assistant Tariq Fatemi on this significant visit.
