RAWALPINDI - Anjuman Talaba-e-Islam (ATI) Rawalpindi Chapter staged a protest demonstration on Tuesday against the alleged murder attempt on its President Jawad Kazmi, Jawad Kazmi, in front of Rawalpindi-Islamabad Press Club (RIPC). The enraged protesters, while holding placards demanded early arrest of the attackers. The activists chanted slogans against the AJK government as well as AJK police over failure in providing security Jawad Kazmi and arresting the attackers. They demanded of Inspector General of Police (IGP), AJK, Javed Akhter to take steps for arrest of the culprits who were involved in the attack. While addressing the protesters, student leader Junaid Masood said that some anti-Pakistan elements were involved in the attack who tried to sabotage the national peace conference, but over failure to do so they attacked ATI leader. He said that these kinds of cowardice acts could not distract ATI from its mission of strengthening Pakistan. The students of ATI would not observe hesitation from sacrificing their lives for the prosperity of the country. He said that IGP AJK Javed Akhter should take immediate action against the criminals who attacked student leader. It is pertinent to mention here that Jawad Kazmi was attacked when coming from Muzaffarabad after attending Pakistan Peace Conference near Ghori the injured him seriously.
