EPZA earns Rs 641m in
1st half of FY 13-14
KARACHI (PR): Export Processing Zones Authority EPZA has demonstrated impressive performance during the first half of financial year 2013-14.
The total revenue stood at Rs 641 million during first half of financial year 2013-14 as compared to Rs 498 million during the same period of last financial year 2012-13. Thus showing a significant growth of 29pc during the period under review.
Surplus after income tax stood at Rs 118 million during first half of financial year 2013-14 as compared to 66 million during the same of period of financial year 2012-13. This shows a substantial growth of 79% during the first half of current financial year.
Cumulative exports from all the zones of EPZA are recorded at Rs. 226 million during first half of financial year 2013-14 as compared to Rs. 208 million during the same period last year, showing a growth of 9% with Karachi Export Processing Zone and Sialkot Export Processing Zone showing impressive growth figures of 17% and 36% respectively.

147th CAA board meeting

KARACHI (PR): 147th CAA Board meeting was held at CAA Headquarters.  This was the first meeting of the recently re-constituted CAA Board after shifting control of Civil Aviation activities under Secretary Aviation.  The meeting was chaired by Muhammad Ali Gardezi, Secretary Aviation & Chairman CAA Board.  Due to non-constitution of the Board, there were many agenda points which needed to be ratified. During the meeting, Board also gave approval of CAA Budget 2013-14 which also included in ADP schemes of fiscal year.

Campaign against blindness

LAHORE (PR): Former Federal Minister and Patron Chief Al Mustafa Welfare Society (AWS) Haji Muhammad Hanif Tayyab has reached in London on Sunday. He would visit UK over the invitation of Abdul Razzaq Sajid, Chairman Al Mustafa Welfare Trust International. Haji Hanif Tayyab was warmly welcomed by Abudl Razzaq Sajid, Allama Jamshid Saeedi, religious clerics and a large number of workers at Heathrow airport.
During his one-month long stay in UK, he would tour across the Britain organised by AMWT in connection with Global Aid Vision, a worldwide campaign against blindness. According to schedule tour would start on February 9 from London and while staying on February 21 at Birmingham, February 28 at Manchester, March 7 at Blackburn, March 8 at Bradford, it would conclude on March 9 at Leicester.

Millennium Olympiad 2014 at Roots campus
ISLAMABAD (PR): The Millennial Olympiad 2014 kicked-off at Roots Millennium Schools. A four-day mega event was inaugurated sponsoring several competitions and 1500 plus participants from over 100 schools and 10 cities taking part in many exciting competitions which include; Live Art, Debating, Dramatics, Chess, Gaming, Table Tennis, Wall Climbing, Photo Essay, Fashion, Film Making, Singing, Law Moot Court, Creative Writing and dance. The Millennium Olympiad is an initiative of the ambitious and enthusiastic students of Roots Millennium Schools. It is a platform on which participant students from across country have registered and the platform allowed them to prove their mettle within various domains of co and extracurricular activities.
