LAHORE - Expressing grave concern over talks with the Taliban, Majlis-e-Wahdat-ul-Muslimeen (MWM) chief Allama Raja Nasir Abbas Jafferi has said that talks with TTP is equivalent to negotiating with evil forces which have killed thousands of Pakistanis. According to a Press release issued here on Sunday, Allama Raja Nasir Abbas Jafferi said this while addressing a conference in Quetta titled ‘Message of Martyrs and Integrity of Ummat.

Ulema including Sunni Ittehad Council (SIC) chief Sahabzada Hamid Raza, Pakistan Awami Tehrik leader Syed Farhat Hussain, member Balochistan Assembly Syed Raza Rizvi, Provincial Interior Minister Sarfraz Bugti, Christian community leader William Barkat and other speakers also addressed the conference. Thousands of male, female and children took part in the conference.

They chanted slogans against US and Taliban on the occasion. They were holding placards being inscribed phrases condemning killings of innocent people. Speakers belonging to different groups unanimously rejected and denounced the proposal to have negotiations with Taliban in the conference. 

They pledged that talks drama must end as representatives of all noteworthy school of thoughts had rejected it.

MWM chief said that, “we can offer more sacrifices for the beloved country but will not surrender our land to Taliban”. “Those who are negotiating with Taliban are in fact cheating the motherland and blood of martyrs”, he said.

“We need to kick off a massive public movement to secure Pakistan. All patriotic forces need to join hands and to work for preservation of our land. Incumbent rulers are posing serious threats to nations integrity”, he stressed.

Sahibzada Hamid Raza said that, “we will not allow anyone to pursue his agenda in the name of Islam”.

He said JI chief Munawar Hassan deteriorated Islam’s and Pakistan’s image by calling TTP killed leader as a “martyr.”

He complained that the forces which were damaging Pakistan and creating unrest in the country were being approached regularly by the rulers while the innocent people who hold protest in Quetta were being ignored.

Faisal Raza Abidi, in his address raised serious concerns over government policies and questioned that what kind of democracy in which we were living.

He expressed his surprise that on the one hand our soldiers were being killed while on the other hand govt was holding talks with the Taliban.
