KARACHI - Following the opening ceremony at Mohenjo Daro, the PPP chief Bilawal Bhutto Zardari on Sunday evening inaugurated Sindh Festival City established in Ibn-e-Qasim Park at Clifton in city.

The young PPP chief along with Sindh Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah, ministers and other PPP leaders and lawmakers from party cut the ribbon formally opening the Sindh Festival City.

The festival city commenced at Ibn-e-Qasim Park Karachi where entrepreneurs from various areas of Sindh had set up stalls, displaying their pieces particularly craft work.

PPP chief Bilawal Bhutto Zardari also inaugurated Karachi Art Festival arranged by artist Sameera Raja at Frere Hall.

Another event of ‘Horse & Cattle Races’ was also held at Hyderabad and Jacobabad in connection of Sindh festival.

The third event of the day ‘Sindh Music Mela’ was held at NAPA, a performing academy, in city.

According to organisers, the two-week long festival includes Horse & Cattle Grand Prix, Grand Mushaira, Desi Donkey Derbi, Deep Sea Fishing Tournament, Basant and Sufi Night among others. Although the entire festival is free for all, the Ghazal programme will be charged.

The closing ceremony will be held at Keenjhar Lake, Thatta on February 15

The Basant Mella is also part of the Sindh festival at sea view, in which PPP’s young chief have already invited to the Prime Minister Mian Nawaz Sharif, PM Nawaz’s daughter Maryum Nawaz Sharif, Pakistan Tahreek-e-Insaf’s chief Imran Khan and other national personalities.
