HAFIZABAD (STAFF REPORTER): The activists of Jamiat Ulema-e-Pakistan (Noorani), Fehmaul Quran Council, Sunni Ittehad Council and Sunni Federation took out a rally to condemn the publication of sacrilegious caricature in a French magazine.
The rally, which was taken out from Mohallah Hussainpura and led by Maulana Badaruz Zaman Tarar, Allam Ghulam Mustafa Sultani, Sahibzada Mudassar Wattoo and Prof Muhammad Akram Chishti paraded Jalalpur Road, Fawara Chowk, Old Kutchery Bazaar and post office road and later terminated near Jamia Masjid Bilal. Addressing the protesters, the speakers strongly condemned the publication of the cartoons, which they said, was deliberate attempt of the Western and Zionist forces to injure religious sentiments of the Muslims throughout the worlds. They said that Muslim Ummah would not tolerate any blasphemous remarks against the Holy Prophet Hazrat Muhammad (SAWW) and called upon the government to expel the ambassador of France and also take this important issue at the UN and OIC, to take a stern action against the blasphemers.
SEMINAR: A seminar to create awareness regarding Women Protection Bill was held at District Police Lines in which DPO Shaker Hussain Dawar highlighted the new rules regarding the rights and protection of the women. He stressed upon the police officers to ensure implementations of the rules regarding the protection of women. He warned that no negligence in this respect would be tolerated. The seminar was attended by all SHOs, Investigation Officers, District Public Prosecutor,
Deputy Prosecutors and DSP Saddr.
