KHANGARH

MNA Jamshed Dasti, flanked by hundreds of residents and notables of his constituency, staged a protest against “what they called” fake FIRs registered against his supporters in NA-178.

They blocked the road and chanted slogans against the police, saying that the ruling party leaders are “using fake cases” as a tool to settle a score. The protesters wore black armband and strips on the heads.

The protesters blamed the Muzaffargarh DPO and DSP, saying they are acting on the prodding of the PML-N leaders in the area. MNA Dasti alleged that so-called touts of Shahbaz Sharif in the PML-N want to avenge his voters for not supporting and voting the ruling party in the general elections. He urged the DPO and DCO to “quit job of the takht-e-Lahore” and become public servants.

In the meantime, the Muzaffargarh DSP made a phone call to Jamshed Dasti and assured him that an inquiry would be carried out into the cases. Following the assurance, the protesters culminated their protest. In the protest MNA Dasti was accompanied by Chaudhry Amir Karamat, Zahoor Samad Bhatti, Malik Ajmal Karlo, Shehbaz Monda, Mian Hassan Mughees, Malik Sajid Hussain and a large number of people of his constituency.

On the occasion, a large number of police personnel were deployed to meet any unpleasant incident. The protest also brought to a halt the traffic and long queues of vehicle including ambulances remained stuck for more than an hour.
