Chief Justice of Pakistan Mian Saqib Nisar said today that constitution is the supreme document of Pakistan and judiciary is the most important pillar of the state.
CJP Saqib Nisar was speaking at the National Judicial Policymaking Committee (NJPC) meeting today.
During the address he said, "Constitution is the supreme document of any country." It is the parliament authority to make laws. "Our job is to uphold the sanctity of the law."
The judiciary should be committed to continuing working with passion and intelligence. He shed light on the unfavourable conditions that judges work in, "I have seen many passionate judges, who worked in unfavourable conditions. This [court proceedings] should be considered as work. The Chief Justice of Canada resigned and said this work was his passion but now it seems like a job. I don't want a job."
The meeting, which is being held in Supreme Court, seeks to overview the performance of the judiciary in the country.
