ISLAMABAD (APP) - The Pakistan Ordnance Factories (POF) has successfully developed indigenously a state-of-the-art anti-terrorist weapon system called "Pofeye". "We have developed anti-terrorist weapon which can hit the target accurately by providing full safety to the operator during cross-firing," said Chairman POF Lt-Gen Syed Sabahat Hussain while displaying the modern weapon system during a briefing to the NA Standing Committee on Defence Production in Wah on Friday. "Pakistan has become second country in the world by developing this weapon," POF chief said. The NA Standing Committee headed by Sheikh Aftab Ahmed paid a day-long hectic visit to POF and appreciated the achievements made by the complex of factories. The POF Chairman giving details about the system said the weapon weighing four kg have the capability to accurately find out the hidden target and then aim it with the help of laser beam. He said the weapon fitted with digital cameras could use 9mm bore pistol besides being a grenade launcher to accurately aim the target. The head of the weapon can find out the target and hit with movement of 75 degree angle. The serial production of the weapon would be started as soon as trials are completed, he said.
