KARACHI - Test batsman Younus Khan finally hit the form when he slammed 71 to carry Habib Bank to 232 for six wickets against Pakistan Customs on the opening day of round two four day match of Quaid-e-Azam cricket trophy here at the UBL ground. Younus who failed to reach double figures in the opening round match against NBP which thumped his team by a big margin came at the wicket after his team had lost first wicket of Ahmed Shahzad at 34. And through HBL who was sent into bat kept on losing wickets at regular intervals, Younus Khan batted on confidently to keep the innings floating. Unlike in the previous match when HBL slumped against the pacers, the bankers this time could not handle off spinner Murtaza Hussain who took two for 72 and leg spinner Muhammad Hussain who finished the day with three for 47. However, the wicket of Younus Khan went to pacer Aamir Yousuf who had the batsman bowled after he had stayed at the wicket for 202 minuets and in 169 ball innings had hit seven fours and a six. Bankers all round star Shahid Afridi failed to get into runs and was caught first ball of Muhammad Hussain for a duck. Thing could have been bad for the bankers without two sensible knocks from Kamran Hussain who is still at the crease unbeaten 51 and Khaqan Arsal who scored 42. Other not out batsman at the crease is Farhan Iqbal 20 not out. Summarized scores.
