Our war, our war

The carnage in Karachi on Ashura should be a lesson for the devil's advocates who have been pleading that the war on terror is being fought due to the American agenda and there would be peace in the country if Pakistan dissociates itself from this war. In order to protect the real identities of terrorists, these elements have been misleading the nation with their 'Go-America Go', campaigns. But the message by the terrorists is loud and clear; no matter what happens, they would continue to kill innocent people of this country in the name of religion, sect, ideology, whatever The thirst of bloodhounds knows no limit and they are forever on the look out for new prey. Time has come that the people and their government should adopt a united stand and a pragmatic approach on this issue of national concern. While the terrorists deserve no mercy, we can at least express our displeasure by boycotting the political supporters and unofficial spokespersons of terrorists. -M KHALID SARWAR, Islamabad, January 1.
