LAHORE – Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif has said that Turkey is a brotherly Islamic country of Pakistan and his visit to Turkey will help cement further these ties.
He said the deep rooted historical and fraternal relations between the two countries enjoy recognition by the people on both sides.
He said during his visit to Turkey talks will also be held for expeditious implementation of the agreements reached between Turkey and Punjab.
The CM said this while talking to media at Allama Iqbal International Airport before his departure on a 4-day visit to Turkey.
Chairman Lahore Transport Company Khawaja Ahmad Hassaan, MPA Hafiz Muhammad Nauman and traders belonging to various sectors are also accompanied him on the visit.
Talking on the occasion, Shahbaz said that Turkey has a vast experience in Bus Rapid Transit System and he will hold negotiations during the visit regarding this project in Lahore, Rawalpindi, Multan and Faisalabad.
He said that the project of Bus Rapid Transit System will be completed with the cooperation of Turk companies which will result in provision of modern transport facilities to the citizens.
He said that he will also hold talks with Turk authorities regarding traffic management and security system while full benefit will be taken from the expertise of Turk companies in modernising solid waste management sector.
He said that people of Turkey and Pakistan have deep affiliation with each other and negotiations will be held during the visit for promoting trade and economic cooperation and launching of joint ventures.
Similarly, a joint strategy will be adopted for the speedy implementation of the agreements signed between Turkey and Punjab, he added.
