LHC snubs IG over death of Hadyara SHO

LAHORE – Provincial Police Chief Javed Iqbal snubbed CCPO Lahore Ahmed Raza Tahir and DIG Lahore over criminal negligence, which they showed on the death of former SHO Hadyara Inspector Mian Arshad. Sources said that the Police Chief ordered the both top cops to personally visit the martyred cop’s residence in native village in Nankana Saheb on Tuesday (today) and hand over a check of Rs 3 million as a token of sympathy to the heirs of the deceased. DPR Punjab Police Mrs Nabeela Ghazanfar Maskhoor Khan also confirmed that IG Punjab has issued the check from Police Headquarters on Monday. She said the IG Punjab has also directed the Lahore Police to immediately recruit the son or brother of the deceased cop. Earlier, the funeral prayers of the deceased SHO were offered at Police Lines in Nankana Saheb. DPO Nankana Dr Haider Ashraf arranged funeral prayers at the District Police Lines where a special police team presented him guard of honour. However, the body of the deceased SHO was placed inside the Qila Gujjar Singh Police Lines where CCPO Lahore Ahmed Raza Tahir and others cops had to participate. “CCPO aired wireless message to all the top cops advising them to approach Police Lines but no one reached there and body was removed to his paternal village without offering his funeral prayer,” a senior cop said, adding the day was the end of the culture adopted on the death of martyred cops.
