LAHORE – The PTI will seek remedy from the courts if the Election Commission of Pakistan could not complete the process of voters list by March 23.
PTI leaders during a press conference on Monday said that the Supreme Court had directed the Commission and NADRA to complete the process by March 23 if they fail to do so, PTI would go to the courts.
Justice (Retd) Wajih-ud-Din, Ahsan Rasheed, Salooni Bukhari, Talath Naqvi along with other party leaders have announced launching protest drive across the province against the gas and electricity load shedding.
PTI leaders said that they would press the government through the protest drive for timely payments to the IPPs in order to control the electricity load shedding.
They said that gas and electricity sector load shedding has crippled the industrial sector of the country, while the residential consumers were also on the roads due to the long hours of the load shedding.
They demanded immediate steps for starting the Iran-Pakistan gas line in order to eliminate the load shedding at the earliest.
PTI leaders further demanded that fares of the electricity and public transport should also be adjusted with time to time according to the price of oil in the international market.
They while saying that the government has failed poorly on every front demanded fresh elections under a bipartisan caretaker set up and election commission.
Several local leaders and former ticket holders of various parties belonging to many districts of the province announced joining the PTI.
