KARACHI – At least seven people including a cousin of provincial information minister were killed in different violent incidents here on Wednesday. A cousin of Sindh Information Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon and regional manager of private bank was gunned down near Habib Bank Chowrangi within the remits of SITE-A police station. Police said that the victim namely Jawaid Memon, son of Aziz Memon, was on his way to home from bank when unidentified armed riders intercepted the car and shot him with point blank range.The bullet riddled his head and he died on the spot. After getting information police rushed to the spot and shifted the body to ASH for autopsy and later handed over to his family. Police said that the motive behind the incident had yet to be ascertained. A worker of MQM was gunned down near Usmania Hospital in Jamshed Quarter police precincts.Police said that the victim namely Rameez, 22, son of Moin, resident of the same area, was sitting in the rickshaw near his residence where unidentified armed men riding a motorbike came close to him and opened fire. Resultantly he died on the spot. The body was shifted to ASH for medicolegal formalities and later handed over to his heirs. A young man was gunned down and his brother was wounded at Mirza Adam Khan Road, Agra Taj Colony in Kalri police precincts.Police said that the victims were twin brothers namely Jamal Zafar and Hyder Lateef, son of Dr Abdul Ghafoor, resident of same area. They were returning home on his car (AHC-390) after appearing in BCom examination, where unidentified assailants intercepted the vehicle and sprayed bullets. Resultantly, they sustained multiple bullet injuries and shifted to CHK where doctors pronounced Zafar’s death and admitted Hyder for treatment. Police said that victim’s father Ghafoor is a doctor in Lyari General Hospital while the motive behind the incident has yet to be ascertained till the filing of this report. Two police constables were gunned down in a robbing bid at Banaras flyover within the limits of Pirabad police station.Police said that the constables namely Rizwan and Nadeem were going on the collection van of General Post Office (CR-6769) when unidentified bandits attacked the van and managed to flee from the scene after looting Rs0.1 million and Nadeem’s SMG rifle. Resultantly the constables sustained multiple bullet injuries and died on the way to ASH. Police registered a case against unknown culprits while further investigation was underway.  A bandit was killed in an alleged police encounter at Gulshan-e-Iqbal Block-12 within the remits of Gulshan-e-Iqbal police station.Police said that the two bandits were busy looting valuables stuff from the citizens at the said place while two police constables on patrolling reached the spot, the bandits opened fire on police. During exchange of fire, one bandit sustained bullet injuries and managed to flee from the scene with his companion. Police said they later found the bandit at Zia Colony with critical wounds and shifted him to ASH for medical treatment where the bandit succumbed to injuries during treatment.     Police found the body of a young man near Christian graveyard in Ibrahim Hyderi. The deceased had yet to be identified. Police officials said that unidentified culprits after kidnapping the victim shot him multiple times and later dumped the body at an abandoned place.
