KARACHI - Chairman of Pakistan Awami Tehrik Dr Tahirul Qadri has said that he is ready to meet President and Prime Minister for the formation of authoritative interim government but they have to come to Lahore. Talking to the journalists here on Wednesday he said that some politicians are giving advice to Election Commission for bringing electoral reforms but this would not produce desired results.
Qadri said that the Election Commission has no powers for amending the law. If the case of rigging is send to ECP, they refer it to the courts and final decision would take five years to decide. He reiterated his resolve that only negotiations cannot prevent long march until government act upon the constitution completely. “If the announcement of interim government would be made before long march , the people would reject it”, he added.
The chief of Minhaj-ul-Quran termed his visit of Karachi very successful in which the ties with MQM has strengthened . He hoped that they would soon get their destination with the support of MQM.
He once again clarified that the deadline given to the government would be finished on January 10 , while long march would be started on 14. He said that he wants only the implementation of constitution in its true letter and spirits instead of new legislation.
