KARACHI - Two suspected terrorists of banned Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) were killed in an encounter in Manghopir area on Thursday.
According to Rangers’ spokesman, security forces conducted targeted raid on a tip-off at Kunwari Colony in Manghopir.
As Rangers raided the suspected terrorist’s hideout, they started firing at the security forces. Rangers retaliated and two terrorist were killed. The suspected militants allegedly belonged to the Waliur Rehman group of TTP were identified as Saeedullah and Azam Mehsud. Spokesman also claimed to have recovered fake CNICs, hand grenades and other weapons from their possession.
Meanwhile, three bullet-riddled bodies were found from Rehri Goth, Landhi in the jurisdiction of Rizvia Police Station.
Police said victims were identified as Hamid Mota, Adil Khatak and Attaullah. Police further said that deceased were involved in criminal activities. They had recently been released from prison. Their bodies were moved to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Center for autopsy and later handed over to the family. Police said victims belonged to the same family and they had a dispute with a rival family. Police have registered a case against the rival group member known as 22 Khandan.
On the other side, gangsters took two men to Tanga Stop in the limits of Chakiwara Police Station and shot both of them multiple times. Police said gangsters, on two motorbikes, reached the spot with victims and shot both before fleeing. Police quoted residents as saying that gangsters affiliated with Baba Ladla group were behind the incident. They said deceased associated with rival gang of Uzair Jan. police moved the bodies to morgue after autopsy at Civil Hospital for identification.
Three alleged militants of the banned TTP were killed during a raid by Rangers personnel in the Gulshan-e-Buner area of Landhi, Karachi on November 13. The security officers had raided TTP hideouts after receiving a tip-off that the militants were planning an attack on the 10th of Muharram. One Rangers official had also lost his life.
On October 2, six alleged militants of the outlawed TTP were killed in two encounters with the police and the Rangers in Karachi. A large cache of weapons and 200kg of explosives were also recovered, officials had claimed.
An alleged member of the TTP was also killed on September 18 during an encounter in Karachi’s Manghopir area. Separately, two suspected terrorists were apprehended from Gulshan-e-Buner area of Quaidabad.
