I’m ladla of the law: Imran

ISLAMABAD - Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Chairman Imran Khan on Tuesday said that if Nawaz Sharif was given an National Reconciliation Ordinance then the nation would not accept it.

The PTI chairman made these remarks, while talking to journalists after appearing before the Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) Islamabad.

He maintained that both Nawaz Sharif and Shehbaz Sharif should know that the nation would not accept any NRO.

Khan added that the nation did not understand repercussions of the first NRO but now it would not accept another at any cost. About the visit of Sharif brothers to Saudi Arabia, he remarked that the two brothers should be “ashamed of themselves”.

They have approached another country to hide their “theft” and they are approaching external forces just to save themselves, the PTI chairman accused.

On the occasion, he also reiterated his demand for early elections saying that early elections were the need of the hour.

“The government has done nothing except for protecting criminals. In such a situation, it is better to hold early elections as no work is being done,” the PTI chief lashed. He said, “The decision proves that I am sadiq [truthful] and ameen [righteous], not a terrorist.” The PTI chairman continued, “I am a ladla [darling] of the law, because I abide by it.”

Referring to the trial against him in the Supreme Court in which he was acquitted last year, Khan claimed that Nawaz Sharif could not have withstood half of the scrutiny that I went through.

“There are cases against me because I am holding them [Sharifs] accountable,” he claimed, adding, “I have never stolen anything in my life.”

The PTI chairman said, “Nawaz keeps saying that he was disqualified on the basis of iqama. His FZE Company was non-operational; it was being used to send Pakistan’s money abroad. This was just another way of laundering money.”

He claimed that the company did not have any other function except for laundering money. In reply to a question regarding the recent tweet of the US president against Pakistan, Khan said that Donald Trump lacked wisdom.

He said that Trump was unaware of the historical facts about the Afghan war and the destruction that it caused in Pakistan.

The PTI chief maintained that enemies of Pakistan provoked Trump to give such a statement and reiterated that it was not Pakistan’s war that cost us 70,000 lives and heavy economic losses.

He said that America was disrespecting Pakistan after all those sacrifices.

The PTI chief said that such things happen when a state fights someone else’s war in exchange for money.

Khan also said that this was the reason why he discouraged leaders from fighting someone else’s war.

“Today, the time has shown us that we should never become a part of someone else’s war no matter how much money is offered,” the PTI chairman said.

He said that when he stopped leaders from participating in the war he was labelled a “rightist” and called “Taliban Khan”.

“I kept on saying that this is not our war. However, now it is clear the amount of damage Pakistan has sustained in the war,” the PTI chief said.
