Low pressure, prolonged outages irk gas consumers

SAMBRIAL - Local people complain about prolonged gas loadshedding and low gas pressure in Sambrial city and suburban areas.

During a survey, locals said that they are facing low gas pressure and gas outages, particularly in morning and evening hours. They said that gas shortage has exposed tall claims of the SNGPL concerning uninterrupted gas supply during winter. They said that the situation has left woman unable to cook meal at homes. A local, Mirza Zaheeruddin Babar, resident of Sambrial city, told The Nation said gas pressure has decreased due to illegal use of compressors sucking gas. He said that the authorities concerned are least bothered to do something practically to bring an end to the practice. Another local, Badar Munir, resident of Sahibkay village, lamented that they have to burn wood for cooking meal due to shortage of gas. He demanded the SNGPL to ensure uninterrupted supply of gas during winter.

TWO HELD WITH LIQUOR

Police claimed to have held two persons with liquor during patrolling here on Saturday. According to police, the accused were identified as Salamat Ali and Asif. They were carrying nine litres of liquor when the police arrested them. Police registered a case against the accused and put them behind bars.
