PPP manifesto to focus on agriculture

LAHORE - PPP’s Manifesto Committee met here in Lahore on Tuesday to deliberate on the new party manifesto for 2018 general elections.

Senator Saleem Mandviwalla, Nayyar Hussain Bukhari, Sen. Farhatullah Babar, Qamar Zaman Kaira, Nisar Ahmed Khuhro, Ms. Sherry Rehman, Ms. Nafisa Shah and Mrs. Azra Fazal Pechuho attended the meeting which took place at the residence of party’s Senior Vice President Mian Manzoor Ahmad Wattoo.

The meeting formulated its recommendations on different subjects for approval of the party Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari.

The Committee will continue to hold its meetings on the new manifesto till preparation of the final draft.

Talking to the media after the meeting, Manzoor Wattoo said that Bilawal Bhutto Zardari will announce the party manifesto after it was complete.

“In today’s meeting, we have prepared recommendations to make improvement in the agriculture sector”, he said, adding, that PPP will take steps for economic uplift of the people living in the rural areas.

Replying to a question, Saleem Mandviwalla called for convening of joint session of the parliament over Trump’s statement against Pakistan. “His statement is unacceptable and uncalled for”, he said.  The PPP Senator said that he was worried how the coming government will cope with the emerging challenges to the country.  Answering another question, he said that it was condemnable that Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif took a flight on a foreign plane instead of country’s own airline.

He also said that Nawaz Sharif was doing politics to save his own skin as he had no love lost for Pakistan.
