Woman poisoned by husband over domestic row

OKARA - A woman was poisoned allegedly by her husband over a domestic issue here the other day.

Sumera Bibi, 30, of Taj Colony was married to Abdul Ghaffar, resident of Bonga Hayat village about few years ago. The wedlock produced two daughters. Later on, dispute arose between the couple. Some days back, Sumera quarrelled with her husband and came to her parents’ house along with her daughters. Abdul Ghaffar came, reconciled with Sumera and took her home. But domestic row started again at which Abdul Ghaffar allegedly poisoned his wife. Police registered a case against the accused and launched investigation.

MAN DIE, 3 WOMEN INJURED

A man was crushed to death by a bus on Dipalpur-Pakpattan Highway. A collision had occurred between a private college van and a bus. The bus ran over a labourer, resident of Gulshane Fareed Colony, before ramming into the van.

In another incident, three women were injured in a road accident on Okara-Dipalpur Highway. The van, carrying three female passengers, was on its way. Near Mango Bridge, it collided with a tractor-trolley head-on. Resultantly, the women were injured. A team of Rescue 1122 shifted them to hospital where condition of two women was stated to be critical. Local police are investigating.
