KARACHI - A division bench of the Sindh High Court (SHC), comprising Justice Mohammad Athar Saeed and Justice Bin Yameen, on Thursday disposed of a petition regarding provision of seats to the cadet pilots in Pakistan International Airlines (PIA). The court also issued directives to the PIA high-ups to consider all job applications on merit. Syed Iqsam Jafferi and six others had moved the SHC submitting that despite fulfilling all the criteria, they were denied seats for training. The petitioners maintained that they got over ninety percent marks in the test for pilot training on Karachi quota but PIA authorities neglected them. Khalid Javed Advocate submitted his comments while representing PIA and Abid Zubairi was counselling on behalf of the plaintiff. The plaintiffs claimed that only the candidates, having close relations with PALPA, were entertained for the training seats. They further submitted that fifteen seats for candidates still existed and pleaded the court to stay the training process until their case was decided.
