ISLAMABAD (APP) - The Adviser to Prime Minister on Finance, Shaukat Tarin on Thursday directed the FBR to establish Facilitation Cells in various parts of the NWFP province for speedy solution of tax problems faced by the business community there. An eight-member delegation of the Sarhad Chamber of Commerce and Industry led by its President, Sharafat Ali Mubarik called on him and discussed the problems being faced by them. They informed that due to the military action against the terrorists the business including industry, imports and exports were badly affected. Similarly, they said that the IDPs issue has also aggravated the economic problems of the province. The SCCI requested the govt to declare the province as war affected area and grant tax relaxation to the business community of the province. He assured that necessary steps are being taken in this regard adding that government was fully aware that due to military action against the terrorists and IDPs problem the business and economic activities in the province were affected and need govt support. He declared that the govt would make Sarhad Chamber a partner in policy making process and try to build up the confidence of the business community of NWFP.
