Curfew in Upper Dir continues

UPPER DIR (INP) - The curfew remained imposed in various areas of Upper Dir for the third consecutive day on Saturday. According to sources, the curfew has been clamped for the last two days to control terror activities. A huge number of security personnel have been deployed in the area, said the source, adding that terrorist activities were stopped since imposition of curfew in the areas of Shahi Kot, Shaltalu, Nusrat Darra and Ben Darra, on the Pak-Afghan border. At least 27 security personnel and four locals have been killed by Afghan terrorists in last month in the district. The security officials said that the curfew is likely to be lifted today (Sunday) evening. Local people have been facing huge problems during curfew. They demanded lifting of the curfew.
