WAZIRABAD - Jamaat-e-Islami Punjab Ameer Dr Syed Waseem Akhtar has said that the government has utterly failed both on internal and external fronts. The Parliament is being humiliated. The anti-American factor will play a role vital during the next election. He said that 30,000 Industrial Units have closed due to the sheer ineptitude of the government. He was addressing a press conference at Islamic Centre here. Dr Waseem Akhtar stated that the volume of foreign debts has increased swiftly during three and half year years from Rs38 billion to 59.67 billion which is worrisome situation for the entire nation. The debts taken by the government were not utilized properly, he added. Government has totally failed on internal and external fronts. Loadshedding, unemployment and price-hike have destroyed all the departments of the country. 30,000 small and large Industrial Units have closed which caused heavy unemployment, he said. The JI leader stated that the government has no vision to overcome the energy crises which is reflected for the deadline of 2020 given by the government for ending loadshedding in the country. The government humiliating the resolutions adopted by Parliament which included a Resolution of 2008 that all matters with America will be settled on equal level and the second resolution is related to Abbottabad incident, he added. He further added that the ruling group, comprised of the PPP, ANP and PML-Q could not even imagine opposing America while people of Pakistan demand an end to drone attacks in the tribal areas which were harming the national sovereignty and integrity. The US gives no importance to martyrdom of 35000 Pakistanis including 5000 soldiers and insulting Pakistan, he pointed out, adding that the JI was struggling for bring up honest and dedicate leadership. To a question, Dr Waseem said that both the religious parties and the PTI had anti-America view point while to some extent, the PML-N was also critical of the US dubious role. Anti-America factor had played a vital role during the 2002 general election, especially in KP and Fata and would prove instrumental during the next election across the country, he claimed. Though the MMA is a story of the past, contacts and parleys have been going on between the religious parties and anti-America force, he claimed. Speaking on the occasion, JI Punjab Secretary General Nazir Ahmad Janjua stated that a sit-in, like that of Karachi, had been planned for Gujranwala on July 15 against skyrocketing prices, unemployment, worst law and order situation, loadshedding, drone attacks and rising number of missing persons. The sit-in programme will be expanded to across the country, he added. JI district Ameer Dr Ubaidur Rehman, City Ameer Waseem Olakh and Sabir Hussain Butt also spoke on the occasion.
