SARGODHA - Local landlords unleashed their dog on a farmers daughter in a nearby village. Ahmed Sher, a resident of Hawayli Majoka, told police that Zahid and Amjed unleashed their dog at her daughter - Laraib Fatima. Afterwards, he said, she got severely injured and was rushed to the hospital. The Tarkhanwala police have registered a case against the culprits. LANDLORDS BOOKED: At least 18 landlords were booked over canal water theft across the district. Police have registered cases on the report of the Irrigation Department in the areas of Mangowali and Nooraywala. Besides four prayer leaders were also arrested on the charges of violating the ban on excessive use of loudspeakers. CLEAN-UP DRIVE: The Tehsil Municipal Administration launched an anti-encroachment operation across the district on Saturday. Scores of TMA officials flanked with police personnel removed encroachments from Katchery Bazaar, Amin Bazaar, Karkhana Bazaar and Mian Khan Road. During the operation, exchange of hot words between traders and the officials was witnessed at various occasions. However, the TMA officials, no matter what the businessmen said, did their way. SECTION 144 IMPOSED: District Co-ordination Officer Azmat Mehmood has imposed Section 144 in the 100 meters limits of the University of Sargodha B.Ed 1st Annual Examination 2011 which will be held Saturday (today). This prohibition would be on all irrelevant persons except candidates and examination staff. ACE summons dead man: The anti-corruption authorities have summoned a man for presenting in an inquiry who had been died fifteen years ago. According to detail, Abdullah, a resident of nearby village Mabharay Khan, filed an application to the anti-corruption in which he told that Hafiz Hussain Ahmed allegedly transferred his land with the illegal assistance of Revenue Officials while Ghulam Hussain was witness of this task. So Assistant Director Anti-Corruption Establishment has summoned both parties for inquiry today (July 2) for hearing. It is to mention that one of them Ghulam Hussain had died on 1996. Lawyers boycott courts: Lawyers boycotted courts on Saturday against alleged police trespassing in the house of former general secretary of Sargodha District Bar Association at village Muhammad Ali Wala. The police had stormed into Advocate Anser Khan Balouchs house and held his cousin Sabtain Khan Balouch. The DBA office-bearers and members condemned it, saying the police had had trampled the basic human rights and demanded that the high authorities should take stern action against the police. Meanwhile, litigants coming from far flung areas suffered miseries due to lawyers strike.
