Federal Minister for Petroleum, Dr Asim Hussain has suggested an increase in gas prices due to increasing gas shortage in the country. "The decision of increase in gas prices will be made by the federal cabinet. The prime minister has been informed about the situation," said Dr Asim Hussain. In an interview with a private TV channel, the petroleum minister said that efforts were being made to revive the closed gas fields and improve production of existing fields to meet the shortage. "Steps are also being taken to stop misuse and theft of gas which adds to the shortage in gas," he said.
