HAFIZABAD - Robbers and thieves went on a looting rampage in the city, robbing cash, and several vehicles in over the last 24 hours here. According to detail, two armed dacoits barged into a mobile shop of Bilal Jaral on Alipur Road the other night under the guise of customers. Later, they brandished their firearms and ordered him to hand over what he had. But the courageous Bilal and some other shopkeepers offered resistance. There upon the dacoits opened fire on Bilal who was seriously injured. He was removed to the hospital in critical condition. According to another report, one Waheed was on way to Sabzi Mandi to purchase fruit and vegetables when near Madhrianwala two bandits intercepted him and snatched away Rs20,000 and a cell-phone. One M Awais son of Ashraf of Jharianwala had parked his bike outside a shop on Vanike Road the other night when the accused lifted away the two-wheeler. M Mirza of Soligin was on way to his village when reached near Patli Hazari, three armed bandits intercepted him and snatched away his bike a cell-phone and some cash. 3 booked: The City Police, on the report of Nowshehra Virkan Police, have registered a case against Shaheen Akhtar, widow, her father Ilyas and brother Muhammad Ijaz on the charge of allegedly killing a police constable Muhammad Ali. The police have arrested all the alleged accused. However, according to widow and her father and brother, Shaheen had fired at the deceased cop when he was attempting to enter the residence by scaling over the wall of the house, in self defence. Meanwhile, the Saddar Police have registered a case against Fayyaz, Ahsan Ullah and Amanullah on the charge of allegedly abducting 18-year-old girl, (F) from Kot Ghoura. The case has been registered on the report of victim brother Muhammad Arshad.
