Shahbaz denies meeting MQM chief during UK visit

Chief Minister Punjab Mian Shahbaz Sharif has denied the media reports that his visit to UK was aimed at meetings Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) Quaid Altaf Hussain for exploring possibility of cooperation between the two parties. Talking to media persons at Benazir Bhutto Airport before his departure for London here in Islamabad on Sunday morning, Shahbaz Sharif said that meeting with MQM Chief was not part of agenda of his visit to UK. The Chief Minister said that purpose of his two-day visit to UK was to hold talks for boosting trade ties and enhancing mutual cooperation in education, health and development sectors. Shahbaz expressed the hope that his visit to UK would prove a milestone to further strengthen the ties which would be in the interest of both countries. Talking about the prevailing situation of the country's politics and economy, he said that both were not satisfactory and urgent attention was needed to improve them.
