QUETTA - A shutter-down strike was observed in various Baloch-dominated districts of the province on Saturday to condemn the killing of Baloch nationalist leader Abdul Ghaffar Langov in the Gaddani area of Lasbela the other day. The strike call was given by the Baloch National Front an alliance of different nationalist parties and organisations. All the shops, markets, commercial centres and restaurants remained closed for the day, bringing a halt to routine life. The strike was observed in Mastung, Khuzdar Kalat, Panjgour, Tump, Hoshap, Hub, Khuzdar, Wadh, Mashkay and other parts of Balochistan. Strict security measures were observed in the districts to avoid any untoward incident. Abdul Ghaffar Langvo has been gone missing since December 2009 and his decomposed by was recovered from Gaddani on Friday. Meanwhile, a large number of activists of Baloch Students Organization (BSO-Azad) staged a demonstration outside Quetta Press Club to condemn the killing of Abdul Ghaffar Lanagov. The protesters were carrying placards and banners inscribed with various demands and shouting slogans against intelligence agencies and security forces. Addressing on the occasion, BSO-Azad leaders condemned the murder of Baloch missing persons and termed it genocide of Balochs. They said that Pakistan had signed the resolution of United Nation for the prevention of genocide but on the other hand the Pakistani rulers were committing genocide of the Baloch nation for the last six decades. They said, More than 160 Baloch missing persons has brutally been killed by intelligence agencies and security forces during past eight months while international humanitarian organisations were playing role of a silent spectator. They demanded the international humanitarian organisations for taking notice of such killings.
