LAHORE Pakistan is an undeniable reality and will remain so till the doomsday, and evil forces both inside and outside the country will be defeated in due course provided the nation becomes an impregnable entity by uniting against the nefarious designs of the US and India. At this most critical juncture in our national history, especially following the Dhaka debacle, the rulers must chart an independent course by breaking the shackles of the US tutelage which is hell bent on eroding the very foundation of Pakistan, while all of us must act in unison as an honourable nation to thwart the nefarious designs of the enemies. There are many agents, like Raymond Davis and his associates, who have sneaked into every nook and corner of the country, but the defeat of this imperial super power is the writing on the wall. Speakers maintained this while addressing the Pakistan Paindabad (Long live Pakistan) Conference, as they also called for all the Muslim states to declare the US as their enemy number one, and wage Jehad against it. The conference was held here at the Al-Hamrah Hall on Saturday under the auspices of the Nazaria-i-Pakistan Trust (NPT) in collaboration with the Pakistan Movement Workers Trust (PMWT). The hall was filled beyond capacity, and the audience repeatedly raised pro-Pakistan slogans. Secretary PMWT Shahid Rasheed conducted the proceedings, and Sarwar Hussain Naqshbandi recited Kalam-e-Iqbal. PMWT Chairman Col (r) Jamshed Ahmed Tareen, NPT Senior Vice-Chairman Majida Wyne, NPT Women Wing Convenor Begum Mehnaz Rafi, intellectuals, columnists, and a large number of people belonging to various walks of life attended the function. Special guest Chief Minister Punjab Shahbaz Sharif launched bitter diatribe against the ruling elite of the country, and while dilating upon his governments unanimous decision to shun foreign aid being dished out by putting Pakistans sovereignty at stake, averred that economic independence was the prerequisite to the political autonomy. Had we been strengthened economically, outsiders would not have refused to vacate Shamsi Airbase. This refusal is a slap on the face of the entire nation, he observed, adding that today the whole nation would have to prove itself like a rock and if we did not give a befitting response to this threat from the outsiders, we would not be remembered in the history. Time has come to decide whether we have to accept the death with honour or live in humiliation. The nations that keep on begging, seeking charity and taking loans never become prosperous. We have to change our destiny by relying upon our own resources and no one will come to help us in this regard, he opined. He mentioned that that the Punjab government, in consultation with Pakistan Muslim League-N Quaid Nawaz Sharif and the party, had taken a historical decision of not accepting the foreign aid at the cost of national sovereignty and countrys honour, and this decision would be the first step towards achieving the goal of national independence. I will let my head chopped off but will never accept such charity and aid from the outsiders that is soaked in the blood of innocent Pakistanis and a blot on the honour and sovereignty of the country, he said as he lamented that today those persons were in power who neither care for their own honour nor that of the nation. Today I am very much perturbed that people are pinning hopes on others instead of keeping faith in Allah Almighty and relying on their own people, he added. The CM said today Pakistan was passing through a very critical juncture of its history. The NPT has tried to give a message of hope and confidence to the nation by holding Pakistan Paindabad Conference in the present disappointing situation at national level, he said, while maintaining that Pakistan Paindabad was not only a slogan but an announcement of renewal of pledge of everlasting love with Pakistan and its demands. Today country demands all of us to come forward and show our love for it through solid act and deeds for renewing this pledge. There is a very long tale of our failures and limited successes in 63-year history. Time has come that we should consider the reasons and causes open-heartedly by admitting our failures and mistakes as without admitting mistakes, the dream of reformation can never be materialized, he added. He said we had to search the answer of these questions that why the country established in the name of Islam was disintegrated only within a period of 24 years. Why the land, the dream of which was visualized by Quaid-e-Azam and Allama Iqbal as a peaceful land for the Muslims is full of bloodshed of Muslims? Why are citizens being killed in the mosques and shrines? Why our houses, army installations and roads have become easy targets for terrorists? What was the reason that Pakistan which was achieved in the name of democracy has been ruled by army dictators for 33 years during its 60 years history? he quizzed, while asserting that today we had to pledge that we would not allow our rulers and policy-makers to repeat these mistakes at any cost. Mistakes committed by politicians for creating such situations in the country cannot be ignored, but the main cause of threat to the existence of Pakistan is that menace of dictatorship which has been attacking our national existence from time to time. Had former dictator Musharraf one per cent of honour and courage, which was demonstrated Nawaz Sharif in response to telephonic calls of American President on the occasion of atomic explosions, Pakistan would not have to face shameful incidents like Raymond Davis and Abbottabad incident, he said. He also said Pakistan army was considered one of the best armies of the world. Our army has rendered unprecedented sacrifices against terrorism. People of Pakistan cannot pay the debt of our army, but they criticise only those adventuresome generals who toppled the democratic governments for fulfilling their nefarious designs and put the honour and dignity of Pakistan at stake, he stated. NPT Chairman and Editor-in-Chief TheNation Majid Nizami averred that Pakistan would stay till the dooms day, but the time demands of us to become a dignified nation. He said it was better that we survive with a bare minimum, but act like an honourable nation. It is a must that the US should leave and put a halt to drone attacks, while India must be taught a lesson never to be forgotten for occupying Pakistans jugular vein Kashmir, he said, while urging the youth to become Mujahideen for liberating Kashmir as did their ancestors in 1947. Kashmir cannot be liberated sans Jihad, and the youth should wage it, he said. He mentioned that Jihad was being stigmatised as 'Fasad (commotion), which was against the Quranic injunctions. Majid Nizami maintained that India had divided Pakistan, and it would not succeed in dividing the country further, though it was trying its best for the last 64 years. Pakistan (and Bangladesh) will be one again by forging as an Islamic federation, he predicted, while mentioning a resolution of the Bangladesh Parliament which declared that the country was Islamic, not a secular one. He opposed having trade with India prior to resolving the Kashmir issue, calling for severing both trade and sport ties with the regional bully. Former Ameer Jamaat-e-Islami Qazi Hussain Ahmed said the Federally Administered Tribal Areas (Fata) were being attacked, and efforts were underway for separating it from Pakistan, reminding the audience that it were the brave people of these areas who lent great sacrifices to liberate part of the occupied state of Kashmir. He was of the view that the serious situation could not be resolved with bombs, but with joining hands and taking control of things. We have put more trust in the American than Allah. Our rulers cannot see beyond US. That is why nothing changed despite the passage of resolution by the Parliament, he said, adding that people should held rulers accountable. Our motto has to be get-rid of America, and we must tell the US that we are not its slaves, we cannot fight your war, as we cannot fight against our own people, he suggested. He deemed that only Jehad could protect Pakistan, since no nuclear arsenal could compete and mitigate the spirit of the holy war, and Shahadat (martyrdom). Former CM Sindh Syed Ghaus Ali Shah, while tracing history of the Pakistan movement, opined that the Muslims could not have gained independence if they would not have followed Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah. About Pakistans present state of affairs, he mentioned that such steps were taken which brought the crises after the country was divided after 24 years of its existence. I have thrown the Two Nation in the Bay of Bengal, he quoted assassinated Indian Prime Minister Indira Gandhi, when she uttered this after the fall of Dhaka. To him the panacea to gain lost honour lied in respecting ourselves first. He wanted that developing Pakistan should be the belief of the nation. We have to make moves for establishing an Islamic Welfare Republic of Pakistan, he said, adding that only people could thwart any military mans adventure of ruling the country. On this occasion, he also talked about the time when Pakistan conducted nuclear blasts, and how PML-N Quaid Nawaz Sharif stood tall to thwart pressure of the West. Ameer Jamiat Ahl-e-Hadith Pakistan Senator Sajid Mir observed that as long as nations did not learn from their previous mistakes, they could not prosper and progress. Pakistan has many successes to its credit, but the Americans and others are trying to destroy us. The country has the potential, but leadership lacks qualities. No doubt, nations go through ups and downs, and Pakistan will stay though its sovereignty has been grossly violated on many occasions, he said, adding that honest working and pure thinking could bring prosperity to Pakistan. He demanded nabbing of all those who were indulging in perpetuating US control over Pakistan, when the former was acting as a boss. President Nazaria-e-Pakistan Forum Islamabad Lt.-Gen. (retd) Abdul Qayyum said the US had entered into every nook and corner of the country, and there were many agents, like Raymond Davis and his associates. He underlined the need for actualising ideals aimed at strengthening Pakistan. We have to sacrifice our personal interests for the country. Secondly, our national character will take us forward, not nuclear arsenal and weaponry, he said, while predicting that US defeat was writing on the wall. Waleed Iqbal quoted his grandfather national poet Allama Dr Muhammad Iqbal 'Nations are born in the hearts of poets, they prosper and die in the hands of politicians mentioned Cuba, Venezuela and Malaysia as success stories among comity of nations, while in the latter country Ministry of Minorities is a Minister of National Unity, which showed its attitude for bringing prosperity to that particular nation. In the context of the foreign aid, he observed that even cheese for rat snare was not free. Allama Ahmed Ali Kasuri criticised foreign policy of the present government, and was of the considered opinion that it was based on 'interest instead of 'dignity. All Muslim states should declare the US as the enemy number one, and wage Jehad against it, he asserted. Meanwhile, speakers appreciated steadfastness and long-standing role of Majid Nizami. They prayed for long life of the veteran journalist. They were of the view that in the presence of people, like Majid Nizami, no one would cast evil eye on Pakistan. They deemed themselves fortunate to be part of a gathering, where the NPT chairman was also present. They extended their heartiest felicitations to him, and his team for holding the conference. Senator Sajid Mir declared Nizami as 'Defender of Pakistan ideology, who had given hope to the people at a critical juncture when despondency had crept into the souls even. Syed Ghaus Ali Shah said Majid Nizami had spent his life in making people understand the ideology of Pakistan. He has waged Jehad. In my presence, he confronted a military ruler when the latter was at the zenith of power, he said. In a communiqu read at the end of the Conference by Shahid Rasheed, it was pledged that Pakistan and its ideology would be protected at every cost. Those spreading despondency among the masses would be held accountable, while the corrupt and looters would be crushed. Moreover, the youth would be imparted comprehensive knowledge about the thought of Allama Iqbal, and life and services of the Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah so that they (young people) could succeed in actualising the objectives for which Pakistan was achieved. The announcement demanded that till the resolution of the Kashmir issue as per the UN resolutions and solving of the water distribution problem under true spirit of the bilateral agreement, trade ties between Pakistan and India should be immediately snapped.
