PESHAWAR - Through a joint resolution moved by treasury and opposition benches in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly, it has been demanded of the federal government to increase allocation for Lowari Tunnel from Rs 1 billion to Rs 4 billion.

The resolution which was passed unanimously here on Tuesday was jointly moved by Senior Minister Sirajul Haq, Opposition Leader Mehtab Abbasi, ANP’s Sardar Husian Babak, Muhammad Irshad and Ghulam Muhammad. Through the resolution it was demanded of the federal government to increase allocation in the PSDP for Lowari Tunnel in Chitral so that the project should be completed as soon as possible. The KPK Assembly met with Speaker Asad Qaiser in the chair. The assembly proceedings began about one hour late from its scheduled time. During question-answer session, MPAs Qaimos Khan, Zarin Gul, Abdul Sattar Khan and Sardar Babak raised questions on the performance of livestock, fishery, zakat and usher and irrigation departments. Senior Minister Sikandar Sherpao, Minister Shahram Khan Tarakai, Israrullah Khan Gandapur, Advisor to Chief Minister Meher Taj Roghani replied to these questions one by one.
