CJ promises redressal of Sadiqabad lawyers’ woes

Led by the Punjab Bar Council vice chairman, a delegation of Sadiqabad lawyers met with Lahore High Court Chief Justice Umar Ata Bandial and remonstrated with the latter against the non-implementation of a plan of construction of lawyers’ chambers in Sadiqabad Judicial Complex.
They informed the chief justice that earlier an area was allocated for the construction of lawyers’ chambers however now the same were not being constructed at the allocated place at the complex.  In respond, the chief justice assured them that Insha’Allah an all-out effort to be made to ensure the chambers’ construction there.
He also said that he would personally talk to Punjab Chief Minister for acquisition of the land of Irrigation Department for this purpose, and make recommendation for allocation of the land for this purpose. He also took a notice of the construction on the land allocated for lawyers’ chambers by the Irrigation Department in “defiance” of the High Court orders. He also said the district and sessions judge of Rahim Yar Khan will investigate into the matter and send a report whereupon an action would be taken against the Irrigation Department.
He said that lawyers’ chambers’ construction would be ensured at all costs in the judicial complex in Sadiqabad. He said that he had also sought a report from the Irrigation Department, besides from the Rahim  Yar Khan district and sessions judge. He pledged that the Sadiqabad lawyers’ problems would be solved on priority bases. He also said that no negligence would be tolerated in the construction of judicial complex. The delegation comprised PbBC members Nasir Mehmood, Noran Shahi, Tehsil Bar Association President Abdul Khaliq, Ch Iftikhar and Mian Khalid.
