Imran urged to change candidate for NA-1 by-poll

PESHAWAR - Rejecting the decision to award party ticket to Gul Bacha to contest by-election on NA-1 Peshawar, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) workers here on Tuesday asked party Chief Imran Khan to revise the decision as Gul Bacha is an Afghan national.
Addressing a press conference at Peshawar Press Club, PTI former secretary information for PK-I, Irfan Saleem said the PTI central parliamentary committee without making consultation with party workers of the respective constituency awarded party ticket to a person who hasn’t even Pakistani nationality. He alleged that party’s ideological workers were ignored in awarding of ticket. Flanked by Riaz Ahmad, PTI PK-3 president, and other workers, Irfan lamented that party parliamentary committee has awarded party ticket to an Afghan national Gul Bacha for contesting elections at NA-I. “More than 22 candidates applied for party ticket for NA-I by-polls but no one was called for interview,” he alleged. “We do not accept the unfair distribution of party tickets and would strongly protest against the decision,” he warned.
He also criticised party provincial leadership for taking a decision without taking party’s ideological workers in confidence. He urged the party to award ticket to Saleem Jan who has great support from people of NA-I Peshawar. He also warned if party leadership fails to fulfill their genuine demand then they will soon decide future line of action.
