Provincial Doctors Association (PDA) on Tuesday called for a complete strike at three major hospitals in Peshawar from July 4 (tomorrow), as meeting between provincial health minister and PDA fails to bear fruit.

According to PDA, Health Minister Shaukat Yousafzai is not interested in resolving their long-lasting issues. The PDA said that door for talks with government on their issues would remain open, however, the government should also show seriousness. The PDA said that the decision to go on strike at three major hospitals was taken at PDA core committee meeting which was held at Khyber Teaching Hospital. In the light of the decision, there will be compete strike on July 4, as no doctor will attend OPD, wards and OT duty during the strike; however, only emergency department will remain open.
