ISLAMABAD : S Arabia has extended deadline for the expats to correct their status till Nov 4, 2013. Ministry of the  S Arabia has announced extension of the amnesty deadline for the expatriate workforce to correct their status. It reads as following: Pursuant to the Royal directive to give more time to workers anomalous of the labour and residence laws, for a maximum period of three months from the date of 25/051434 AH to correct their status, and based on the recommendations of the ministries.

of Foreign Affairs, Interior, and work, about the full cooperation and rapid response of citizens, residents and the business sector, which resulted in the correction of status of large number of fenders, and in the light of the full cooperation of the embassies and consulates concerned to meet the required documents and their desire as a result of heavy pressure from applications to provide more time for the status correction of those eligible, and for the convenience of the citizens and residents who took it very seriously.

The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdul Aziz Al Saud has therefore consented to extend the deadline until the end of the current Hijri year 1434 AH, (corresponding to November 4, 2013) as the last date, directing the security and other competent authorities to catch the offenders in all regions of the Kingdom from beginning of the month of Muharram 1435, and apply all legal procedures against violators, the ministries of Interior and Labor appeal to everyone to fulfil all legal requirements and correct their status as soon as possible and within the period referred to, and whoever did not respond to it would be liable to the maximum penalties against him in accordance with the provisions of the rules.
