The Federal government’s announcement of 6 developmental schemes worth Rs. 130 billion under the Pak-China Economic Corridor is remarkable, as it would mark the beginning of a process that would transform the country into a transit hub for the second largest economy of the world. The Pak-China Economic Corridor project is the most important agreement signed between Pakistan and China to date.
In the rapidly changing geo-strategic and security environment, both countries are likely to face many regional and global challenges. Now both the leaders should pace up the work for cementing the traditional Sino-Pak relationship with the exclusive focus on the Pak-China Economic Corridor, which could bring economic prosperity for Pakistan and under-developed regions of China as well.
