Heavy rain inundated all the eight Ramazan bazaars in Sialkot, Daska, Sambrial and Pasrur tehsils due to which, there was no rush of buyers there on Wednesday.

The Sialkot region received heavy rain followed by the heavy windstorm. The heavy rain also badly affected the electricity and communication systems due to which the supply of electricity remained suspended for several hours in urban and especially rural areas of Sialkot, Daska, Sambrial and Pasrur tehsils. It was the second of heavy rain in Sialkot which lashed out the entire Sialkot region.

It was cloudy with the loud thunder of the clouds. Rain began after noon and remained continued till evening intermittently. The rain also forced the people to come out on the roads and in the streets to enjoy. People enjoyed the pleasant and rainy weather.

On the other hand, the paddy growers have warmly welcomed the heavy rain and termed it conducive for the paddy crops in the Sialkot region, a hub of quality paddy yield.

The rain also exposed the administration claims as the main city roads including Kutchery Road, Paris Road, Abbot Road, Jail Road, Railway Road, Mujahid Road, Shahabpura Road, Rangpura, Hajipura , Prem Nagar, Pooran Nagar, Commissioner Road, Allama Iqbal Chowk, Khadim Ali Road, Sialkot Airport Road, Hajipura Road, Sialkot Railway Station, District Jail and others were inundated with the rainwater.

When contacted, officials said that the cleanliness of seasonal Naullah Bhed was briskly underway.

 Officials of Met office have forecast more widespread rains in the Sialkot region and in all the catchment areas of neighbouring Occupied Jammu & Kashmir.
