KARACHI - The Pakistan People’s Party has accepted the MQM’s invitation for attending its ‘Solidarity Rally’ in support of the armed forces of Pakistan.

MQM delegation extended the invitation during a meeting with Sindh Information Minister Sharjeel Memon at his residence here on Wednesday.

The four-member MQM delegation comprising provincial assembly members Khawaja Izharul Hasan, Khalid Bin Vilayat, Dr Arshad Vohra and Mehmood Abdul Razzaq. Excise and Taxation Minister Mulesh Kumar Chawla was also present on the occasion.

Speaking on the occasion, he said the country was facing challenges of terrorism. “The entire nation is standing along with the Pakistan armed forces which are fighting against the terrorists. Federal government action against the militants is a good decision. The PPP has accepted the MQM’s invitation for July 6 gathering,” he added.

He said the PPP and the Sindh government had a clear stance on the IDPs that they would not leave them alone in this difficult situation.

MQM deputy parliamentary leader in Sindh Assembly, Khawaja Izharul Hassan said today’s meeting was aimed at extending invitation to PPP for July 6 rally. “We have asked Memon to convey our message to Sindh Chief Minister Qaim Ali Shah who is currently in Islamabad.”

He said on the directives of MQM chief Altaf Hussain, the party was in contact with all the religious and political parties for getting support for the rally and they had extended invitations to all of them.

“We not only support Pakistan Army’s action against the militants but are standing with them in this fight against terrorism. Political parties which are playing politics in the name of IDPs have done nothing for the country,” he added.
