TTP militant involved in firing on plane held

Peshawar - The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa police on Wednesday arrested the banned Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan commander involved in PIA plane firing incident at Peshawar Airport.
According to police, Ali Hyder, commander of the banned TTP Shahid group has been arrested.
Ali Hyder was involved in attacking the Pakistan International Airline (PIA) plane at Peshawar’s Bacha Khan International Airport in which a woman was killed and two crew members sustained injuries.
The key commander has been shifted to undisclosed location for further investigations.
Police had suggested a head money of Rs10 million for the militant.
Earlier, a letter had been sent to the political agent of Khyber Agency and Darra Adam Khel to take action against the terrorists involved in plane firing incident.
During the search operation, police had arrested around 200 suspects but they were released after questioning, while three suspects were still in police custody for further questioning.
Police had asked the Khyber Agency and Darra Adam Khel political administrations to arrest 600 nominated terrorists.
According to initial report prepared by the police, foreign made M-16 gun was used by TTP terrorists to fire on PIA flight No PK-756 when it was about to land at the Bacha Khan International Airport, Peshawar. The flight was arriving from Riyadh with 160 passengers onboard at the time of attack.
The investigating team had found 24 shells of the foreign made gun from Mashu Khel and Suleman Khel areas of Peshawar during the post-attack search in the adjoining areas.
