The workers of brick kilns and power looms took out a protest rally against the apathy of the owners their workplaces and urged the district administration to protect their rights.

The rally started from Ayub Chowk. After marching different roads, it reached in front of DCO office where hundred workers of workers joined the rally. It was headed by district president of Labour Qaumi Movement Chaudhry Tanveer Ahmed. They staged a sit-in in front of DCO office.

Addressing the workers, their leaders said that the Punjab government had issued a notification to increase the salary of bricks kiln and power looms workers but the owners had not increased their wages. They said that despite the notification, the department concerned has not succeeded to implement the order.

They claimed that the department was committing negligence and carelessness.

They warned to the district administration that if their legal demands were not accepted, they would again stage a sit -in in front of DCO office till the acceptance of their demands.
