LAHORE - Parts of the country including Lahore received rainfall of varying intensities yesterday, providing much needed respite to the people from the prevailing sultry weather.
Experts have forecast more rains during the next 2-3 days. In Lahore, overcast conditions, strong winds and scattered rains caused decrease in the mercury level, making weather pleasant.
Maximum and minimum temperature in Lahore was recorded 35 degree Celsius and 25C respectively. Relative humidity in the evening was recorded 61 percent.
According to experts, strong monsoon currents are likely to penetrate upper parts of the country today. A fresh westerly wave is affecting upper parts of the country and likely to persist till Thursday.
The Met Department forecast partly cloudy weather with chances of rain for Lahore during the next 2-3 days.
Widespread rain/dust-thundershowers with isolated heavy falls accompanied by windstorm are expected in Islamabad, Upper Punjab (Rawalpindi, Gujranwala, Lahore, Sargodha, Faisalabad divisions), Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (Malakand, Hazara, Peshawar, Mardan, Kohat, Bannu, DI Khan divisions), Kashmir (Muzaffarabad, Mirpur and Poonch divisions).
