Isn't it good news for Asif Ali Zardari that all cases of money laundering, drugs, murder etc have been dropped against him? To pronounce him innocent, the courts had to work overtime. Mr Zardari is, indeed, innocent but then, who is the owner of the Surrey Palace sprawled on 355 acres of rolling English countryside? Party's spokesperson, Farhatullah Babar clarify that Mr Zardari had nothing to do with the choice property. While our courts have declared Mr Zardari innocent, what about the Swiss court where cases of money laundering were being heard for so many years? Have the Swiss courts too dropped these cases? People remember Mr Zardari and PPP leaders' calling our courts as 'kangaroo' courts when the cases of corruption were initially filed against him. Now the same 'kangaroo courts' have dropped all cases against him. -MEHRAN LEGHARI, Lahore Cantt., via e-mail, May 20.
