KARACHI - A toddler was allegedly killed by his maternal uncle over personal dispute within the jurisdiction of Malir City police station. An FIR no 142/09 was registered on the complaint of Anwar Zaib, son of Dilferoz Khan. The complainant said his brother-in-law Naseeb Shah entered his residence when his (Shah) sister and two-month old nephew were alone. He, after snatching the child from her, killed him by smashing him on the ground. The deceased was two months old and was identified as Mohammad Abbas, who died on the spot. The accused fled after committing the crime. Police officials, quoted the deceaseds father a saying that his brother-in-law was jealous of him and due to jealousy, he killed son of his own sister. The culprit came to his residence on late Monday night when he was not at home and locked the door from inside. Shah then snatched the child from my wife, tried to strangulate the child and then smashed the innocent on the ground, he added. In another incident, one Ehsan, 30, receives severe burn injuries in Surjani police precincts on late Monday night when he allegedly attempted suicide in his house. He admitted in the Burns Ward of Civil Hospital, Karachi. He was the resident of Yousuf Goth. SHO Ghulam Hussain Korai said the injured received almost 100 per cent burn injuries as he poured kerosene oil on him while the doctors termed his condition critical. When asked him about the cause of the incident, Korai said the victim was not in a condition to record his statement and admitted unconsciously in the hospital. Meanwhile, a decomposed body of an elderly person with brutal torture marks and burns of concentrated acid was recovered from the bushes on Northern Bypass in the limits of Manghopir police station. He went missing from Gulshan-e-Iqbal 13-D on May 28, 2009. His son Amanullah had lodged the case of his fathers missing in the Gulshan-e-Iqbal police station. Police officials said the body of 58-year-old labourer Habibullah, son of Nabi Bux was recovered from Northern Bypass near Hazratabad turning. Police officials said initial investigation reveals that the person was abducted from Zia Colony Gulshan-e-Iqbal Block 13-D. They further quoted the deceaseds family as saying that victims son had suspected that some people from their ancestral town in Punjab could have been involved in abduction and killing of his father. An FIR no 206/09 under Section 302 had been registered against four persons including Abdul Jabbar, Nawaz, Nazar and Abdul Kareem. The body of the deceased was shifted to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital (ASH) for autopsy. In another incident, a one Farhan, 22, son of Babu, was sustained injuries when he was hit by a stray bullet near his residence at New Muzaffarabad Colony, Quaidabad area. The victim was shifted to JPMC where he died during treatment and his family took his body away without legal formalities. Meanwhile, a body of a 35-year-old unidentified person was recovered from sewerage drain in Pak Colony within the limits of Rizvia police station. Police officials said the deceased died due to drowning. The body of the deceased was shifted to ASH where doctors said the body was three to four days old. In another incident, a 15-year-old youth Haider Ali, son of Sajid Ali, was died after an unknown vehicle hit his motorbike near his residence at Landhi no 31/2. His body was shifted to JPMC for legal formalities.
