SHEIKHUPURA (PR) - A monthly meeting of Health Education and Literacy Programme (HELP) was held at Monga Nasheman, Sharakpur the other day which was presided over by its president Akhtar AU Monga and was attended by all its office-bearers and executive committee. The progress and the problems relating to HELP Public School, HELP Medical Complex and HELP Vocational Institute for Women were discussed at the meeting. The participants were informed that HELP has been working for the last thirteen years and so far 5,739 students have studied in the school without any admission and tuition fee and in certain cases even books and uniforms are given free of cost. As many as 89,097 patients were treated and given free medicine and 3,023 female students got free training in the field of vocational skills like sewing, stitching, tailoring, embroidery, leather manufacturing and house hold matters. The construction of Help Community Centre also came under discussion. The conduct of the previous contractor Wajahat Ali and Brothers through Syed Basharat Ali Sherazi was criticized. However, it was informed that his work order had already been cancelled. It was proposed that the work might now be got completed from some responsible contractor on labour rates after a green signal from the donors.
