LAHORE A delegation of World Bank mission, led by Edward Cook called on Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif at Chief Ministers Secretariat, here on Wednesday. The Land Record Computerisation project in Punjab was discussed in the meeting. Member Provincial Assembly Syed Zaeem Hussain Qadri, Chairman Planning and Development, Senior Member Board of Revenue, Chairman Punjab Information Technology Board, Project Director LRC and senior officials concerned were present on the occasion. The CM, while talking to the delegation, said the LRC project was of great importance for providing relief to the people, facilitating them to get transfer deeds and registries of their properties, which would help eradicate corruption. This project will help eradicate Patwari culture with the result that forgery in the sale and purchase of the property will become impossible. The LRC project is being implemented speedily and all out resources are being utilised for its completion by 2012, he said, and while thanking the cooperation of World Bank in the project of the Computerisation, the CM said the project was launched by the PMIL-N government in 1998, which was neglected by the previous government and now measures had been taken for the speedy completion of this project. The pilot project of the Computerisation has been launched in Kasur whereas measures have been taken for extending its scope in all districts, he added.
