LAHORE - Pakistan Visionary Forum (PVF) has condemned the brutal murder of journalist Saleem Shahzad and demanded immediate judicial inquiry into the incidence. While expressing deep sorrow over the incident, PVF Secretary General Zubair Shaikh said government should ensure protection of the journalist community and no one can stop journalists to bring truth to the public. Members of PVF including former minister Qayyum Nizami, former Chairman IRSA Shafqat Masood, Prof Abdul Qayyum Qureshi, Agricultural Scientist Dr Muhammad Sadiq, Col (r) Mahmood Shah, companion of Quaid-e-Azam Brig (r) Zafar Iqbal, former MD Pakistan Atomic Energy Commission Foundation Mansoor Ahmed, Engineer Abdul Majeed Khan, Engineer Muhammad Yaqoob, Dr Ikram Koshal and Engineer Muhammad Azeem expressed their deep concern over the murder. No society can be developed without the provision of social justice to its citizens, they added. They also paid tribute to Saleem Shehzad for his services in the field of journalism. Istahkam-e-Pakistan rally: To pay glowing tributes to brave soldiers of Pak Army who are rendering their services for the noble cause against terrorism, a mammoth Istahkam-e-Pakistan rally is being organised under the auspices of Helping Hand for Humanity Foundation Pakistan on Friday (today) at 5.00 pm, says a press release. The rally would start from Al-Madina Road near Al-Madina Town, Township. People from all walks of life would participate in the rally. At the end, rally would be addressed by central Chairman Rana Dilshad, Vice-Chairman Shafique Umar, Vice-Chairman Punjab Sagheer Ahmad Awan, Director School Haji Yousaf and Chairman Lahore Chapter Rana Shaukat Ali.
