The Pindi Bhattian Police have registered a case under Sections 147/149/354/342/506 of PPC against 28 workers of PTI including newly-elected MPA Nighat Intisar Bhatti's son Aoon Jahanghir and 27 others on the charge of allegedly misbehaving with PML-N MPAs - Farzana Butt and Salma Butt when they visited a polling station during by-election to PP-107 on May 29. The police have arrested 10 of the accused. However, all the accused have been granted bail by the court of Pindi Bhattian on Monday.

Meanwhile, PTI leader former Federal Minister Liaqat Abbas Bhatti has strongly condemned the registration of a case on the orders of the Chief Minister and arrest of PTI workers in a concocted case. He said this was mere victimisation of the PTI workers. He said that the lady MPA had intruded into the polling station only to engineer rigging and the workers had stopped her from doing so.

He warned the administration to desist from such discriminatory action and questioned why the police have not so far arrested the PML-N MPA and his bodyguards for thrashing a Presiding Officer at Sakhi polling station. He also questioned why the lady MPA of PML-N had visited the polling station which was not lying in her area.

Meanwhile, General Secretary PPP Hafizabad Tehsil Wasim Ahmad Gujjar has called upon the ECP to take stern action against the PML-N MPAs/MNAs who engineered rigging at different polling station on May 29.
