DERA GHAZI KHAN
A 10th class student from Karachi was raped here by her internet friend as well as a policeman and his friends who later sold her for Rs180,000 but the bid was foiled by the local media persons.
Bakhtawar, 20, from Karachi had developed friendship online with Shakoor, a resident of Dakhan Shakoor, who made with her the marriage promise. He invited her to a local hotel where the girl stayed for night and he alleged raped the girl.
In the next morning, Shakoor's brother-in-law Amanullah took the girl to the general bus stand to make her board on a bus leaving for Karachi. At the bus stand, Constable Zahid of Gadai police apprehended them and took them to police post Gadai. He demanded Rs20,000 from Amanullah who paid him Rs7,000. The constable let Amanullah go but the former and his friend Zulfiqar kept the girl with them. Afterwards, the constable took the girl to a private place where he unlawfully kept her for five hours. Sources said that the cop made a deal with some accused to sell her out for Rs18,0000. However, local journalists brought the facts into the notice of the district police officer and the DSP city circle.
On their orders, the girl was recovered from the custody of the constable. The police lodged FIR 274/14 against the constable Under Section 155c and arrested him. The police recorded the statement of the girl and lodged the second FIR 104/14 against the other accused. Shakoor along with his accomplices Amanullah and Waqas were arrested and produced before the court which gave them in judicial remand to the police while Shakoor was given in on physical remand.
Meanwhile, the victim was handed over to her family member arrived here from Karachi. The sources alleged that the police had wrongly implicated the hotel owner and staff in the case.
